difference between lead acid battery and an AGM

AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries are a maintenance free alternative to traditional flooded lead-acid batteries. They are designed to provide powerful bursts of starting amps and run electronics for a longer period of time. An AGM battery contains a special glass mat separator that wicks the electrolyte solution between the battery plates. With being maintenance free there is no need to add water as it is completely sealed battery. Flooded lead acid battery is the most “traditional” type of battery, wet or flooded batteries are widely used in cars, trucks, golf carts, etc. These batteries contain a combination of liquid electrolyte. Now days many manufactures are making maintenance free cases with vents so the battery is still flooded but there isnt a need to add distilled water.
